Yan (Counsellor in Training)

​

Yan is currently undergoing her Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling with Counselling and Psychotherapy Central Awarding Body (CPCAB). Yan offers a warm, supportive, and non-judgmental space in which you can explore your thoughts and feelings in a safe environment. Yan appreciates each individual is different and will have a unique experience, and therefore one single counselling approach will not be the perfect fit for everybody. For this reason, Yan works interactively, drawing upon several different counselling models to help her clients and tailor her approach to best fit the individual’s needs.

 

Alongside her work at Aurora, Yan volunteers at Samaritans where she supports people experiencing emotional distress caused by a range of issues including loneliness, anxiety, stress, trauma, broken relationships, bereavement, addictions, and suicidal thoughts.  

 

Prior to her counselling training, Yan worked in the financial and professional services sectors for more than 15 years. Yan was born and brought up in mainland China and has been living in the UK for the past 27 years.

• CPCAB Level 4 - Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling (Ongoing) 

• CPCAB Level 3 – Certificate in Counselling Studies                                                                 

• Certificate in Therapeutic Counselling Skills and Studies with Metanoia Institute 

• TQUK Level 2 Certificate in Counselling Skills
