Aurora Foundation for People Abused in Childhood

Lizzie (Integrative Counsellor)

Lizzie is a qualified Integrative Counsellor and a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).

Lizzie’s training is integrative which allows her to tailor and adapt her work specifically to your needs and perspective. Working collaboratively with you, Lizzie will listen, guide and empower you as you navigate your way through life's challenges. She will create a safe and supportive place for you to express your thoughts and feelings as well as exploring the root of your emotions and behaviours, helping you to connect deeper with your sense of self.

Lizzie specialises in supporting individuals who have experienced domestic or sexual abuse. In particular, she has a vast amount of experience working with police officers or police staff who have experienced abuse (including police perpetrated abuse) and so understands the additional barriers, challenges and complexities this can bring up.

Lizzie recognises that survivors often face additional barriers and challenges as a result of their experiences; including shame, self-blame, trust difficulties, anxiety, complex trauma responses, and the impact on family, work, and social connections.

Healing is not linear, but you do not have to navigate it alone.
