Christina (Counsellor in Training)

Christina is in training at the University of Roehampton on the MA Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy. She uses an integrative approach to combine different therapeutic ways of working to best suit your needs. She has a particular interest in the effect of trauma on relationships, both with others and with ourselves. She believes in the importance of the relationship between therapist and client, and creating a safe and collaborative space to explore what has brought you to therapy at a pace that is comfortable for you.

Alongside her placement at Aurora she volunteers at the Samaritans, providing emotional support to people in distress for a wide variety of reasons. She is also involved in training new listening volunteers for the branch and in prisons.

Before starting training as a psychotherapist, she completed a master's degree in psychology, which began her interest in the development of relationships and autonomy. This led her to mentor young people with the Julian Campbell Foundation. Prior to this she had a 15 year career building software.
