Maura (Clinical Supervisor)
Maura is a UKCP registered Integrative Psychotherapist, a registered member of the BACP and works at Aurora as one of our Clinical Supervisors. She has an extensive range of therapy trainings and combines them into an integrative model adapted to meet the needs of individual clients in her private practice.
As a survivor of childhood abuse, Maura embraces and embodies Aurora's model of change from the position of victim towards empowerment and self-definition. A journey of working through trauma to gain an initial sense of surviving and an ultimate sense of thriving and finding a meaningful way of living.
Maura has worked as a Clinical Supervisor for 30 years. Her style of supervision is intersubjective, experiential and integrative (integrating a number of modalities, adapted to meet clients' individual needs and expectations). She creates a mutual learning space wherein her Supervisees can feel equal, valued and heard. Integral to this ethos is a capacity to encourage Supervisees to take risks and try out new ways of being with clients. The positive strength of group supervision comes from the collective, finding an overview and super- vision.
